Who I pray to.

It rained all day today. Now it is night. Church was good. Today was my first Sunday as the "teacher". It was just Barbara, Audrey, and me. It was a pleasant experience. We looked at different Scriptures describing God's character in relation to prayer. He cares and wants us to tell Him everything. He calls us to know Him in Psalm 27:8. "When You [God] said to me, 'Seek my face' my heart said, 'Your face, Lord, will I seek.'" I have really learned what it is to "cast all my cares" on God this past year. I'm not going to go into detail, but I'm in an interesting situation in which God has been my only refuge. The only One who really knew how I felt. I can only describe it as crawling into the lap of someone bigger and stronger and more caring than any human and just being rocked while sobbing out pent up emotion, fear, and doubt. He strokes my hair with the same hand He used to give the world form and give the blind sight and the dead life. He lovingly whispers my name in the same voice that called the light out of the darkness and calmed the raging storm on the Sea of Galilee. He tells me that everything is going to be okay and that His will is being done even when I can't see it. This is the God I worship. He does not sit on His throne aloof. He is not Santa Clause or a dictator or a hippy-loking dude with long hair and a mild, empty look on His face. He is the Ancient of Days, without beginning or end. How dare we try to put Him in a box or pretend we don't need Him! Our funny little lives are sustained by His will and His unfathomable love. I can't believe His love. I don't get it, but I thank Him for it. He love you, too. Will you let yourself feel it? It's up to you.
