Green Apple Jones Soda

Today I was sitting in the Focus in the bank parking lot. It was about three pm. The sun was coming in the windshield at a steep angle and I broke the seal on a green apple Jones. What happened next moved me deeply. The sun backlit the smooth, quiet, emeraldness of the cool liquid. When the first hiss of escaped pressure broke the reverant silence, dozens of dozens of tiny bubbles danced upward to join their friends gathering at the surface, all with one goal: freedom. Freedom to dance their jolly way past the mouth of the bottle and spill unfettered down the outside of the neck to drip down my arm and splash from my elbow onto my newly washed Nautica jeans. The sight of the sudden appearance of those little jewel-like bubbles caused me to draw my breath in sharply at the beauty of such a simple, natural thing as carbonization. Sure, I had seen bubbles in soda pop before, but the green, sunlit dancers was a new experience for me. I can only hope that you see it for yourself someday. Support the little man and buy a Jones soda. I am not being paid to say this.

Hello, my faithful readers, whoever you are! Boy, I like this font. It's called Treuchet. That's the Swedish term for flaming projectile. Trebuchet always reminds me of the movie Timeline, another of my favorites. The dude yells "Treb-yoo-shay!" as this huge flame ball comes screaming down on the castle. I'm really into quotes. I like them. They are fun to quote and make people think you are well-read and intelligent. HA! I'm such a tricksy hobbitses. Well, I'm not that short. I'm on the short side of medium at 65" tall. You do the math. I don't really feel like being awake anymore so I am going to go to bed. School and work tomorrow- long day. Woohoo! At least I'll be driving a newly washed and waxed red 2004 Focus on the highway. Talk about a sweet ride. The Ol' Busted Hotness has been traded in for the New Sweetness. Good night all! See you later.
Another list of likes:
  1. Morton Meat's pepperoni
  2. Finding sand from the beach in the pockets of last summer's shorts
  3. Horseback riding in the hills with friends.

Dislikes:

  1. Carpenter ants
  2. The smell of old wet towels
  3. Hidden potholes in the road.

My last few hours...

This is it, folks. In less than 12 hours I will have turned fully 20 years old. It will happen on my way to algebra class. That is, if I'm on time. What special musing do I have on this occasion? What is going through my head other than that I'm hungry and my leg is falling asleep? Not much. Well, I'm trying to think of what to teach for youth group tomorrow evening at 6pm. If you have any ideas...
I know, I'll talk about the character of God! It's a passion of mine, knowing God. This could even become a "series". And prayer. We must have more group prayer. That is where things happen. Revival in Uganda broke out from a group of seven men praying together. Before long, it was thousands. At the 2000 New Year celebration Uganda made a covenant to serve and follow God for the next 1000 years. That is what I want. It starts with a few hearts fervantly seeking God and spreads like wildfire. It starts with me. It starts with you. Where are you in relation to your God? Oh, He's your God whether you recognize it or not. And one day your knees will bow and your tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. My question to you is this: will it be willingly with joy or will you be grieving that you wouldn't acknowledge it sooner? The Bible says in Paul's letter to the Roman church that no one is without excuse. God is in your face all day every day. What are you doing with this revelation? Embrace it, friend! It'll the be the most real thing that has ever happened to you.

Who I pray to.

It rained all day today. Now it is night. Church was good. Today was my first Sunday as the "teacher". It was just Barbara, Audrey, and me. It was a pleasant experience. We looked at different Scriptures describing God's character in relation to prayer. He cares and wants us to tell Him everything. He calls us to know Him in Psalm 27:8. "When You [God] said to me, 'Seek my face' my heart said, 'Your face, Lord, will I seek.'" I have really learned what it is to "cast all my cares" on God this past year. I'm not going to go into detail, but I'm in an interesting situation in which God has been my only refuge. The only One who really knew how I felt. I can only describe it as crawling into the lap of someone bigger and stronger and more caring than any human and just being rocked while sobbing out pent up emotion, fear, and doubt. He strokes my hair with the same hand He used to give the world form and give the blind sight and the dead life. He lovingly whispers my name in the same voice that called the light out of the darkness and calmed the raging storm on the Sea of Galilee. He tells me that everything is going to be okay and that His will is being done even when I can't see it. This is the God I worship. He does not sit on His throne aloof. He is not Santa Clause or a dictator or a hippy-loking dude with long hair and a mild, empty look on His face. He is the Ancient of Days, without beginning or end. How dare we try to put Him in a box or pretend we don't need Him! Our funny little lives are sustained by His will and His unfathomable love. I can't believe His love. I don't get it, but I thank Him for it. He love you, too. Will you let yourself feel it? It's up to you.

Aaah, Saturdays!

Today started out very lazy. Slept in and mooched around in my jammies for a while. I went to work at 3:30. Quite busy! The store was never empty until closing time at 8. I forgot my key and the old spare was the only one there. I managed to lock the door to count the $$ but couldn't unlock it to leave! Had to call my fellow employee Amber to rescue me. The nubbies on the key are so worn down they don't catch in the lock very well. Didn't get back to the Heath House until after 9pm. Watched Lady and the Tramp with Barbara. Sigh. How special. Got a birthday ecard from my sister-in-law's parents. Thanks, you guys!
Good night, sleep tight!

Time for Beddy Bye

After getting back from school, I picked up a movie to take to a friend's. We ate tacos (my fave after bacon cheeseburger) while watching "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events". Whatta show. After the movie we sat around talking "girl talk" until about 10:15 or so. We had to take Mom home before returning to the Heath House so we didn't get here until about 11:30. I'm so glad I don't hafta get up early this morning ;)
List of things I love:
  1. Full moon on fresh snow.
  2. Planting flowers.
  3. Rolling out a perfect piecrust.

List of things I don't love:

  1. Nose bleeds.
  2. Powdery mildew.
  3. My pride.

I must sign off while it is still called today. Good night, one and all! May the God of all peace comfort your hearts and draw you close to Himself.

CCE

Here I am at college. We're taking a break from lit class before starting our essay tests on this week's reading assignments. At least it's open book. I like those alot;)
There was only decaf coffee at the Heath's (I'm housesitting w/ Barbara) so I got a Coke to wake me up a bit. Stayed up too late for getting up at 6 am. Ended up sleeping in until 6:40.
Well, I'd better get back.
Toodles, noodles!

Off to School

Today is another day. It's cloudy and drippy and a bit chilly, but, as always, beautiful. Why? Because this is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it. Always remember that God is worthy of worship and praise regardless and because of current circumstances. He is holy. He is on His throne.
I will be off to my algebra class pretty soon. Finding the slope of a line on a graph isn't exactly fun, but I get it so it isn't too bad.
I'll be back later to tell you all about it. Oh, yeah, literature is right after math today so it'll be later than usual. Hmmm. Better pack a lunch.
Toodles, poodles!

Well...

Well, that was fun. I just filled out all my profile stuff. I wonder if anyone will ever see it. Mmmbye.

From My Head

Well, here goes. I've never had a blog thingy before. I got one because of two reasons.
  1. It's free
  2. My brother and sister-in-law have one and my younger sister has one. I'm a bit of a copycat.

I have no idea what I'll be saying here which is why this is titled the way it is. No, it's not frommy head. Frommy is a word used in Medeavil times to describe someone unmistakibly drunk. Not really, I just made that up. Had ya fooled though, didn't I?

Well, I'm gonna mess around with a few things before I kick off. See ya 'round!
